1HAMAGIN SPACE SCIENCE CENTER

A science museum featuring space and Yokohama as its themes. Visitors can feel close to space through various interactive displays and simple experiments in such areas as the Space Captain Room, the Space Discovery Room, the Space Training Room, and the Space Laboratory. The dome-shaped Space Theater with a diameter of 23 meters and a slope of 30 degrees offers an exciting planetarium experience by a digital video projected on the 360-degree panoramic screen.

2Mitsubishi Minato Mirai Industrial Museum

An interactive museum for understanding cutting-edge science technology in a fun way. Displays include real rocket engines, models of nuclear reactors, airplanes, etc., and a simulator of the Ultra Low Floor Articulated Vehicle "jTRAM." The Trial Square where visitors can experience vehicle design and vehicle operation is a popular attraction.

3Kiyoken Yokohama Factory

Factories tours are available at this Kiyoken factory that produces a popular Yokohama souvenir, shaomai (steamed meat dumplings). Visitors can learn the production process of shaomai from the mixing of fillings to the boxing of finished products. Tasting of fresh made shaomai is offered at the end of the tour. The historical uniforms worn by salespersons are also displayed.

4Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum

A retrospective town reminiscent of the late 1950's (33rd year of the Meiji Era) is reproduced inside a building that houses select ramen establishments representing various regions of Japan. Visitors can also learn about the history and culture of ramen noodles. Business hours may change without prior notice.

5Yokohama Streetcar Museum

Displays street car vehicles that ran throughout the Yokohama City for nearly 70 years, model trains and photographs. A large diorama where visitors can move model trains and a simulator of subway operation are also popular attractions.

6Yokohama Doll's House

One of the biggest doll museums in Japan. Displays 1,300 rare dolls from 140 countries around the world, including the doll sent to Japan as a symbol of Japan-US friendships in the early Showa period. The "Dolls Fureai Atelier" on the third floor holds unique displays including videos showing the doll making process and materials and tools that visitors can actually touch.

7Japanese Overseas Migration Museum

Located within the JICA Yokohama International Center. Displays the history of Japanese emigration and the current status of immigrants and Japanese descendants living abroad. The history is divided into five periods and shown using chronological tables, literatures, photographs, and movies. The reference room serves as a library for JICA trainees, but is open to public as well. *Includes a cafeteria and a terrace.
