Triennale" is a term for an international art exhibition which is held every three years. Term for an exhibition held every two years is "Biennale", the most famous exhibition would be Venice Biennial. This year is the 4th edition of the Yo
kohama Triennale titled "OUR MAGIC HOUR - How Much of the World Can We Know? -", over 300 artworks by artists from Japan and overseas are mainly exhibited at two main venues, Yokohama Museum of Art and NYK Waterfront Warehouse (BankART Studio NYK). According to Osaka Eriko, Director, Yokohama Museum of Art, "I think that by making one of the venue a museum, which is a facility dedicated to exhibiting art, it will enable wide variety of people to know 'modern art' which are thought to be difficult and complex. I plan to make the exhibition to transcend time by exhibiting old and new works of modern art including collections from the Yokohama Museum of Art. This time, many artworks by young Japanese artists are also exhibited with the concept of transmitting culture from Yokohama. read more...
