A library
for samurai during the Kamakura period, this building was built by
Sanetoki Hojo. Today it is a history museum featuring art work and
documents including national cultural treasures from the Kamakura

Shomyoji Temple

This temple,
built by Sanetoki Hojo during the Kamakura period, was made as the
Hojo family temple of the Kanazawa area. The Jodo style garden with
Ajiike Pond in front of the main temple is wonderful. The temple's
bell was portrayed in the woodblock print "Shomyo-no-Bansho,"
one of eight prints depicting views of Kanazawa by Hiroshige Utagawa.
